Circle of Oaks
Located in Exterior
Located on the east side of the River Parcel Vineyard.
The River Parcel and Ballestra Vineyard property (70 acres total) were purchased by the Opus One partnership in 1984. A small percentage of this land was planted in Cabernet Sauvignon along Highway 29, but the bulk of the vineyards were planted by Opus One starting in 1984. On the east border of this property runs the Napa River and along the river are many old growth Oak trees. These trees are protected by such laws as the Napa County Watershed and Oak Protection Initiative, Protected Native Tree Program, and Significant Tree Program. There is a natural circular formation of “old Growth” Oaks along our side of the river. In this area, unplantable by law (and too much shade for vines anyway), Opus One created the Circle of Oaks. Many internal functions happen in this area, and it is a lovely stopping spot for hosts touring guests on the property.
